Small Business Development
Within third world countries a large percent of the economically active population is self-employed in small businesses. This combined with increased poverty and the strong interest for improving one's economic situation provides numerous opportunities for institutions and volunteers to introduce small business themes and income generating programs at the community level.
In order to address this immediate need, a business curriculum has been developed by Peace Corps Volunteers for presenting basic business concepts. The goal is that this information will give a solid foundation from which to make sound business decisions concerning their present and future enterprises.
