Course 6 - Group Dynamics, Leadership and Interviewing
Course 6 emphasizes through discussion, a puzzle activity, and role-playing the importance and benefits of working together as a group, importance of good leadership, and the importance of having definite goals.
Characteristics of a Healthy Group -
Good communication.

Everyone is working towards the same goal.

Everyone is open to giving and receiving help when needed.

Everyone has a voice in the group.

There are many ideas in a group.

Good cooperation and the intent to do quality work.

Characteristics of a Good Leader -
Animation, enthusiasm, responsibility.

Sensitive and Intelligent but not a "know it all".

Shares credit of success with everyone in the group.

Gains the group's confidence, establishes a good relation with the group, and listens to ideas and problems that the group presents.

Recognizes and shares the abilities and talents of the group.

Has visions and ideas; will assume risks and try new things.

Spends time with the group, communicates well, know limits of the group.
Important Group Goals -
Determine the goal(s) that the group purports to achieve

Make a list of the actions needed to achieve this goal.
Mission Statement, Goals, and Objectives -
Mission Statement - A brief statement that describes the purpose of the company.

Goals - Broad, overall aims of a business that describe the work needed to be done to achieve the mission statement.

Objectives - Specific, practical, measurable, short-term steps for achieving the stated goals.
